Having lived in Drogeda for a brief while you can feel the history in the area. This bottle comes from the old firm of Prestons in Drogheda. Prestons can trace their history back to the 1300’s when wine was first traded in the town. The Prestons would import from Bordeaux and trade with various ports across England, Scotland and Ireland. The firm became one of the biggest wine and spirits merchants in the country and owned a brewery and distillery in the town. Even when their own distillery was in production they acted as independent bottlers, maturing and bottling Jameson under their own brand.So they were getting the best of both worth worlds.
