A brilliant bundle of 2 hard to get Spot Whiskeys this is a combination of blue spot and Gold Spot. Blue Spot being the highly anticipated collaboration from Irish Distillers and Mitchells & Sons, Blue Spot 7 Year Old Cask Strength, has finally arrived! The revival of the Blue Spot marks the end of a 56 year wait since the last recorded bottling of the old Blue Spot in 1964. Building on the bourbon and sherry maturation the new Blue Spot also contains whiskey aged in carefully selected Madiera casks, made in a cooperage in the north of Portugal and then sent to the island of Madeira. Bottled at cask strength, with an annual changing of abv this is Batch 2. The latest release from the spot range and a cracker of a whiskey at that Gold Spot is matured for at least nine years in Bourbon Barrels, Sherry Butts, Bordeaux Wine Casks and Port Pipes. Non chill filtered and bottled at 51.4% ABV for a whiskey that is complex and full flavoured. For anyone who was a whiskey live im sure you went to get a sample.
