Jameson 12 year old has a wonderful pot still character combined with the smoothness you would expect from Jameson. The pot still content on the standard Jameson ranges from 5-7 years old. With the 12 year old, the extra ageing adds considerable depth and complexity. A heavier style of pot still whiskey is used and a good proportion is aged in sherry casks (again a higher amount than the standard bottling). The result is a whiskey that bridges the gap between standard blends and the heavier single pot still whiskeys from Jameson. This Jameson has since been discontinued sadly.
