Certainly one of the oldest bottles Ive come across. This is presumed to be from the 1920s if not slighlty sooner. From the old Midleton distillery and sold by Woodford Bourne and Co who were wine and spirit merchants in both cork and Limerick. This is an 8 year old whiskey which based on the time wouldnt have been as common with some other younger whiskeys being the focus before Jameson decided to add its age statements.Woodford Bourne and Co was the second largest wine and spirit merchant in the country second only to Gilbeys. Certainly a piece of Irish whiskey history. Unfortunalty the old wax seal has deteriorated over time but as can be seen in the photos it remains attached to the bottle in areas.Due to the nature of the seal and cork we can not garuntee this in shipping and would recommend collecting the bottle if possible.
