Green Spot is a celebrated single pot still Irish whiskey, originally produced exclusively for the Mitchell family, who began trading in Dublin in 1805. By 1887, the Mitchells expanded into whiskey bonding, sending empty wine, sherry, and port casks to their local Jameson Distillery to be filled and returned for aging in their bonded warehouse. Green Spot, with an average age of 7–9 years, takes its name from the Mitchells’ practice of marking barrels with colored spots to indicate their age. Now produced at Midleton Distillery, Green Spot continues to honor its storied origins while remaining a cornerstone of Irish whiskey.
