This superb Octomore features Bruichladdich Distillery's highly peated malt which in this case had a phenol level of 90.3ppm. Released as a distillery exclusive and therefore very hard to find it was initially aged for five years in American oak before a final extra five years in red wine casks from the Ribera Del Duero region in Spain. One of many great Octomore whiskies, this one offers lots of the signature peat smoke but with some extra layers of chocolate, spice and fruit from the wine cask ageing.
