This is the fifth release in the series draws on teelings desire to innovate using the finest Portuguese wine barrels. For this release they have selected, ex-Red Wine Casks from the Douro region in Northern Portugal to create an expression unique to Irish Whiskey.Douro is a style of Portuguese wine that comes from the Old Vines that are usually more than 25 years old. 

Teeling Whiskey and the Teeling Distillery are integral parts of Ireland's whiskey renaissance. Founded by the Teeling family in 2012, the distillery is located in the heart of Dublin, the first new distillery in the city in over 125 years.

Teeling Whiskey stands out for its innovative approach to Irish whiskey production. The distillery prides itself on handcrafted, small-batch spirits that combine traditional methods with a contemporary twist. They focus on utilizing a diverse range of cask types for maturation, resulting in whiskies with unique and complex flavour profiles.

In addition to their core range, Teeling offers limited edition releases and single malt expressions that further showcase their commitment to quality and experimentation. Of course, most of their older expressions are bottled from mature stock from other distilleries (such as Bushmills and Cooley), but we are also starting to see excellent releases from the Dublin distilled inventory.
